Nature Boy
Nature Boy is a ten-foot mobile built entirely from hand-felted wool, crafted to shift with the air moving through a room. My fiber work explores the connection between people and the natural world through texture, movement, and form, and this piece is a direct extension of that. Nothing about it is fixed. It drifts, almost imperceptibly, until it becomes difficult to say whether you're watching an object or a slow, ongoing process. That ambiguity is the point. I want the motion itself to hold a viewer's attention, hypnotic and quiet, until time starts to feel a little slower too.
